Today we’ve been briefed by librarians from Sarawak State Library who came along from Kuching about “Legal Deposit Services”. The briefing was held at Auditorium Room which was attended by librarians of UPM Bintulu Library and representatives from each department of UPM Bintulu. The briefing highlighted that all of the publications that published within Sarawak must be sent to Sarawak State Library according to Sarawak State Library Ordinance, 1999, which is for the preservation of materials and to create standard bibliographic records of material that published in Sarawak.So publishers shall take note as it may cost you a maximum RM3000 of fine!
